Hedgehog will be doing the following:

Pasquavela  Regatta, Santa Stefano,  21-24 March
Tropheo Navale Regatta, Livorno, 1st -4th May
Italian Nationals, Cannigione, 25th-30th May
Worlds, Cannigione, 5th -13th June

We will be on water between the Nationals and the worlds if boats want to tune up. we are booked into the Hotel Del Porto, Cannigione.

A bit worrying on the Ferry issue but our boat is supposed to be taken from livorno and delivered to Cannigione for us. Hopefully we will hear soon.

Best wishes

Chris

chris,
we expect to get their on sunday 1st as i believe does duncan so will be out on water from monday.
as regards ferries i was told that the deal would be posted a week ago but that the deal on the standard ferry website was better than the 50% discount they promised. (i dont think so) it seems to me they have given up trying if they ever started, should we give up and make our own arrangements?

We didn't get any response to our enquiries through the World's web site, so have done the same as Hitch Hiker and booked direct with Moby.

I have today booked Hedgehog on the Moby Line from Livorno to Olbia on 5.5.08 at 8.00am .

It will be driven by friends from Olbia to Cannigione to await our arrival for the Italian Nationals on 24th May  - we fly in that evening on Meridiana from Gatwick and are staying at the Hotel Del Porto.

The boat will then be driven by friends on 16.6.08 to Olbia and put on the Genoa Ferry at 22.00. It will be picked up at Genoa and driven to Hungary before the Europeans.

This is the Moby Website;

I have hired a Sardinian friend and her boyfriend, both keen sailors,  to assist on Sardinia.

She has just returned and is training to be a teacher - so looking for things to earn money. Claudia is very helpful and would be happy to assist any of you. She charges €20 per hour with a minimum 5 hour initial booking. I thoroughly recommend their help. It cuts through the difficulty in planning Italy. Let me know if you want to be in contact with them.

Those going to the Worlds should note that the Melges 24 Worlds are on at virtually the same time so there will be pressure on the Moby lines. It says on the Melges website:

Porto Cervo, Italy
28 May - 6 June 2008

The Costa Smeralda YC has got them a 30% discount  and the Moby booking details are clearly on page 1 of the website:

SmileHitch-Hiker is planning to use the following weekends for training in Poole Bay.
6/7 Apr, 12/13 Apr and 10/11 May.
We would welcome anyone else from this end of the country who would like to join us.
