Saturday
The first formal day of the J24 European Championship, here in Crete and most of the participating boats arrived in the bay of Souda. Measurement of masts and sails, weighting of the competitors and the boats together with the registration were some of the jobs of the sailing crews. In the morning the weather was sunny and hot but during the afternoon the rain made the whole procedure of registration difficult. The numbers of registered boats reached 22, and athletes from Greece, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Hungary and United Kingdom have already been welcomed at the venue of this great European event.
Sunday
Registration and Measurement continued today, the second day of the European Championship here in Souda. The bad wind conditions with a lot of rain kept the fleet ashore, and made the weighing of the boats hard. The Italian team also arrived today with two boats and so far the number of the registered boats had reached 27.
The members of the Racing Committee and the International Jury also arrived today to conclude the people of the Organizing Committee.
Tomorrow morning until 11am, the last boats will register and at 13:30 there will be a Skipper’s Meeting for the last details of the races.
A practice race has been scheduled for 15:00.
